Summary:
This is a classical two-semester undergraduate course on this subject, with some minor variations:
The topic of Newton-Bairstow method is ideal for discussing code differentiation.
Householder transformations are ideal for describing the QR decomposition.
Least-squares has a taste of finite elements. Spaces of piecewise linear functions and constraints lead to interesting exercises and discussions.
Taylor's method for the numerical solution of ODEs also invites to be presented by code differentiation.
